Oregon Coast Daily News is an independent local news site covering Lincoln County and the central Oregon coast, from Lincoln City and Depoe Bay to Newport, Toledo, Siletz, Waldport and Yachats.
We report on the decisions, places and people that shape daily life here: county and city government, the Port of Newport and the fishing fleet, ocean science and coastal hazards, the tourism economy, household finance and community events.
Ownership and editing
Oregon Coast Daily News is owned and edited by Marnie Holcomb, who serves as editor and publisher. She is responsible for what we publish and for correcting it when we get something wrong.
How we work
We favor primary sources: meeting packets, agency data, court and tax records, published research and on-the-record interviews. Our standards are described in our editorial policy, and errors are handled under our corrections policy.
