In the middle of Yachats sits a small log building with a steep roof and a bell. The Little Log Church was built in the late 1920s by local residents and later turned into a museum.

Built by neighbors

Early Yachats was a tiny settlement with few public buildings. Residents built the church themselves, using logs and local materials, and it became a gathering place for services, weddings and town events.

A museum of early life

Today the building holds exhibits on the history of Yachats and the surrounding area, including early settlers and the tribes who lived along the coast. It is still used for some weddings and small events.

A stop worth making

The church is a short walk from the main street and an easy stop on a trip to Cape Perpetua.
