The Lincoln City police department is now offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the resolution of the case involving the pedestrian that was fatally struck by a vehicle in Lincoln City in January. Lincoln City police responded on January 6th at about 7:25pm to a report of a female struck by a vehicle on NW 17th Street, near Highway 101.

When Officers arrived, they found 52-year-old, Rhonda Lynn Chapman of Lincoln City injured in the roadway being aided by passers-by. Chapman and another pedestrian had been walking Westbound on NW17th Street, near Maxwell’s Bar and Grill, moments before the incident. Chapman was struck by a motorist that left the scene prior to police arrival. She was transported by ambulance to the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital where she died from injuries sustained during the crash.

A white extended cab pick-up with a white canopy cover was captured on video surveillance in the area of the crash. Investigators still need to contact occupants of vehicle for possible witness information (see above photo).  The incident is still under investigation and anyone with any information, or knowledge of incident is urged to call the Lincoln City Police at (541) 994-3636.
