Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and a Newport Police officer responded to a report of an adult female who was trespassing on Waldport High School property yesterday afternoon just before 1pm. The investigation revealed school staff members contacted the woman and determined she had no students attending the school or reason to be on the property. When she was asked to leave and refused, law enforcement was contacted and as a precaution the school was placed in lock-down.
The woman was identified as 34-year old Nicole Carlson of Tidewater. She was contacted by a sheriff’s deputy and she again refused to leave school property. Carlson was taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on the charges of Criminal Trespass in the second degree and Disorderly Conduct in the second degree. Her bail is set at $17,500. The investigation is ongoing and Carlson’s reason for trespassing is not known, but mental health issues are suspected.
