Depoe Bay Man Faces Multiple Charges From June Crash

crashA Yamhill County Grand Jury has indicted Randy D MANNS, age 46, of Depoe Bay on numerous felony and misdemeanor charges related to a serious injury head on vehicle crash that occurred on June 28, 2015 on Highway 18 near Oldsville road (four miles wes t of McMinnville).  MANNS was indicted for Assault in the Second degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Felony DUII, Possession of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Reckless driving, Reckless Endangering and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.

On June 28th, at about 7:15AM, MANNS was the driver of a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV traveling eastbound on Highway 18 when it crossed the center line. His vehicle struck a Yamhill County Deputy Sheriff driving westbound in a marked 2008 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car. After the impact the Hyundai SUV overturned and caught on fire. Several citizens stopped to assist as did a Yamhill County Deputy and extinguished the vehicle fire. Deputy David MILLS, 28, received serious injuries from the crash and is recovering.

MANNS is currently in custody on an unrelated charge at the Lincoln County Jail in Newport.
