North Lincoln Fire & Rescue District was dispatched to a “structure fire” at approximately 2:10PM, on March 13th. Firefighters arrived to the two story dwelling house with heavy smoke coming from the residence. The house was located on NW Inlet was used as a Vacation Rental Dwelling, or VRD under the management of Starfish Manor Hotel located next door. At the time of the fire, a service man for the VRD management company was inside and saw flames and smoke in the kitchen area near a water heater.
The man suffered no serious injury, but was looked at by Pacific West Ambulance medics at the scene. The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire within 20-30 minutes; however, smoke had severely damaged a the structure, and flames heavily damaged the kitchen and second story bedroom. North Lincoln Fire & Rescue had twenty-one volunteer firefighters on scene at the fire. The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
