The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) invites all fun-loving individuals, artistic or otherwise, to run through Nye Beach on Saturday, June 18 for the Color the Coast 3K Color Run fundraiser. Grab your family and friends, have a blast and bring a little color to your life! The fun begins at 8 a.m. and ends with a Color Festival Beach Party later that morning with music, dancing and color throws. If you’ve never heard of a color run, check out thecolorrun.com to see what the concept is.
Start the race with a clean palette – a white T-shirt – and at color stations along the run (or walk) route you will be doused with food-grade, colored powder (cornstarch). Don’t feel like running? You can walk it, too! This event is family friendly – each participating adult can bring up to two children (aged 7 & under) along for free. Registration is set at $35 for adults and $25 for youth aged 8 to 18 years. Register by June 8th to receive your Color the Coast T-Shirt!!!
“Color the Coast” begins and ends at the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, with color stations set near NW 6th & Nye streets, Nana’s Irish Pub at NW 3rd and Coast streets, the Newport Performing Arts Center at Coast and Olive streets, and the base of Don Davis Memorial Park (on the beach).
The event provides fun for the whole family and operating support for the OCCA, whose mission is to develop, promote and celebrate community arts. Call 541-265-2787, Click here for details or register online here.
