Marijuana Dispensary Robbery Suspects Caught

On Tuesday March 7 at approximately 10:30 am, James Bryan and Carrie Hurley entered the Waldport Dispensary located on SW Highway 101. During their time inside the business, they stole approximately $300.00 in various products. Through tips from the community, as well as surveillance footage, the two were quickly developed as suspects. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office released their photos and a photo of a van the two had been associated with to the public asking for tips.  On March 8th at approximately 1:00 pm, James Bryan and Carrie Hurley were located by Deputy Shawn Carter in the Dodge van.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on the van in South Beach. During the stop deputies attempted to place the pair under arrest. Mr. Bryan reportedly barricaded himself in the vehicle for a short period of time and was uncooperative with the deputies. Traffic on Highway 101 was disrupted during this time. Mr. Bryan was eventually able to be taken into custody without use of force. The stolen property from the theft, less what they had consumed, was recovered from the van.

Bryan was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and is currently being lodged on charges of Theft II and Resisting Arrest with a bail set at $30,000. Ms. Hurley was issued a citation at the scene for Theft II and released with the van. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office thanked the citizens and business partners in the community who called in numerous tips and sightings of the subjects and their vehicle. This incident shows the power of community and police relationships and how we can all work together to solve crime and make our communities safer.
