On February 28, 2017, at about 6:25 p. m., OSP Troopers were dispatched to McPhillips Beach in Pacific City for a report of a deceased male in a vehicle. McPhillips Beach is about 24 miles south of Tillamook in Tillamook County. When Troopers arrived, they located a 2004 GMC truck on the beach and found Christian J. TEETER, age 39, of Missouri, inside the vehicle deceased. The preliminary investigation determined that TEETER had died from a self-inflicted gunshot. Further investigation revealed that the GMC was also reported as being involved in a theft at the Pacific City Shell Station on February 25, 2017 and some of the items stolen were found in the vehicle.
OSP was assisted by Nestucca Rural Fire & Rescue, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Department and the Tillamook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
