Back on November 4^th, 2016, Sergeant Michael Pace with the Toledo Police Department accepted a grant award of over $1,679.00 through the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund for the purchase of six iPads. The iPads purchased with this grant replaced the antiquated laptops in the officer’s patrol cars. According to Toledo Police Cheif Enyeart the iPads offer a wide range of versatility.

He said this will allow the officers to be able to relay pertinent information between the Toledo Public Safety Dispatch Center and the Toledo Police Department Officers, report writing in the field, video and picture capabilities, and internet access for investigative purposes. Enyeart said “obtaining the iPads also enables us (Toledo Police Department) to complete our transition to a new Report Management System and Computer Aided Dispatch.”

This will allow the Toledo Public Safety Dispatch Center to provide more localized services to other government agencies. “This last year the department purchased a computerized dispatch system and we now have our own system so we are no longer with Willamette Valley Communications Center or WVCC as the new program provides a reports management system for us”.  Enyeart added their future plan is to be able to provide dispatch services for other police or fire agencies. The Toledo Police Department thanked the Siletz Tribal Contribution Fund for their generosity and support of the Toledo Police Department, Toledo Public Safety Dispatch Center, and the communities.
