The results are in for the 2017 Kite Theme Contest, and the winner is Judy Mauro from Salem, Oregon. Judy’s theme is “Xkitement”, which will be the theme for both the Summer and Fall Kite Festivals. For Judy’s creative effort, she has won a signature glass float from Lincoln City’s Finders Keepers promotion.
Each year, in anticipation of the Kite Festival, a naming contest is held to pick the theme of the event. Progressively working through the alphabet, this year’s theme was determined using the letter “X.” Judy’s theme definitely had the x-factor and stood out from nearly 500 entries that were submitted this past January.
