Around 1:15 am on January 26th Toledo Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched to a report of a fire at one of the Port Buildings on Yaquina Bay Road. The fire was at the old Port headquarters building and is now used mostly for storage. Toledo fire crews were assisted in getting the fire quickly knocked down with help from Newport and Siletz fire departments. Pac West ambulance was also on stand by if needed and TCB security came out to prevent anyone from driving over the hoses. The building sustained serious damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation however according to Toledo Fire Chief Ewing it appears it may have been electrical in nature.
