Snowing On The Coast Lincoln County Schools Are Closed

Due to the inclement weather and the safety of our employees and other motorists, Thompson’s Sanitary is postponing service for all customers today, January 4th.  Routes will resume tomorrow, January 5th, one day late ending on Saturday. Please check our Facebook page and/or the blog on our website, thompsonsanitary.com for further service notifications.

The Newport warming shelter will be open today starting at 11am at the Lincoln County fairgrounds and will remain open through the night and tomorrow night.

The Lincoln City warming shelters at both locations tonight through Sunday night.

Lincoln County Schools are closed today because of the snow. This includes the Siletz and Eddyville Charter Schools.

Nestucca Valley Schools are on a 2-hour delay.

Oregon Coast Community College is closed today at all three of their campus locations

There is a downed tree on NE 28th street in Lincoln City near the hospital that is blocking traffic.

Hatfield Marine Science Center will open at 10am this morning.

Alsea School District is closed today

Lincoln County Circuit Courts are closed today. Jurors should call at 5pm.

The city of Toledo city hall and services are on a two hour delay.

After several days of very cold temperatures, travelers this morning should be ready for snowy and slick roads. While ODOT crews were able to plow and sand there are still slick road conditions. Travelers should be aware of these conditions and adjust their driving behavior. Travelers should allow for extra travel time, reduce speeds and be prepared for winter driving conditions. When travelling be prepared for delays, plan for your travel by leaving lots of extra travel time. It is also important to pack an emergency kit in your car that includes blankets and extra water, food plus battery cables and flashlights.
