Lincoln County is partnering with the State Marine Board to come up with concepts and gather feedback from recreational boaters to assist in the development of a recreational boating facility at Don Lindly Park. The meeting will be held tomorrow from 4-6pm at the Waldport City Hall’s Council Chambers. Don Lindly Park is located on the Alsea River off Hwy 34 at milepost 7, before the bridge crosses the Alsea River and across from Canal Creek Road. In late 2014, a variety of partners worked together to purchase the property for the future development of a public boat ramp, docks, parking and sanitation. The county has a 40-year lease on the property with ODFW who used federal fish restoration dollars to purchase the property. The county has agreed to build and maintain a boat launch facility. The facility is open during the spring through fall for bank river access. Those who would like to learn more or see plans for the park can go online to the Lincoln County webpage and look under county parks.
