The Nelscott Pump Station had overflows on two occasions. The first one occurred on November 24, 2016 at 9:30 am and ended at approximately 2:00 pm on November 25, 2016. The amount of discharge was estimated at 2,200,000 gallons. The discharge entered Baldy Creek at SW 35th Street and exited at the beach near SW 35th and Anchor Ave. The second overflow occurred on November 26, 2016 at 8:30 am and ended at 10:30 am. The amount of discharge was estimated at 117,000 gallons. The first overflow occurred due to heavy rains from November 22 — 24. The second overflow occurred due to pump failure. Rain fall amounts attributing to the overflow was 11/22/2016 – 1.88”, 11/23/2016 – 1.98” and 11/24/2016-3.67”. The affected area has been posted. The City notified appropriate personnel at Oregon Emergency Response and the Department of Environmental Quality.
