Many folks in Lincoln county work hard but still have a difficult time making ends meet. This time of year is especially tough for families as we head into the holiday season. That is why our radio stations here at Yaquina Bay Communications teamed up with Coastal Farm and Ranch supply to raise needed funds for Food Share of Lincoln county. This year we managed to raise $1,425 by the cutoff time of 5pm yesterday. Of that money, Coastal Farm and Ranch supply matched us $1,000. So, all together we will direct to food Share some $2,425. That represents a little over 6 tons of food for those in need in Lincoln county. All funds collected help food share to provide food to the pantries and other programs that they serve. There are food share pantries located in Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, Siletz, Toledo, Newport and Waldport. They also provide food to other organization that help others in Lincoln County such as the produce plus program. This is open every Friday and offers extra produce and foods to those in need. They also help to supply food for the back pack and snack pack programs for hungry students in Lincoln County.
