Last week, the Port of Toledo’s boatyard crew hauled out the first vessel with their new 660 ton mobile vessel lift. The Timmy Boy, a 60′ fishing vessel based out of Newport was the first boat to be lifted. Adjacent to the new haul out piers, the boatyard crew had just hauled out the Charter Vessel Tackle buster with their 85 ton lift. The 50′ charter vessel homeports in Depoe Bay. The Port Commission and staff are enthusiastic about the Boatyard’s expansion, and the opportunities it will provide. Improvements to the new expanded boatyard are still in process, with a new wash down area being completed. Haul outs for vessels over 85 tons are now being scheduled. This project has been made possible with grant funding from the Connect Oregon program and support from Business Oregon and Infrastructure Finance Authority. The Port thanks the community for the overwhelming support for this project.
