FREE Freedom From Smoking Courses to be Offered in Newport

Lincoln County Public Health, in partnership with Samaritan Health Services, will be offering free American Lung Association Freedom From Smoking courses starting August 2016. Classes are completely free and open to the public.
The Freedom From Smoking course is broken into 8 sessions over 7 weeks. Sessions 1-3 aid participants in creating a quit plan and focuses on preparing them for life without smoking. Session 4 is quit day, and sessions 5-7 are focused on strategies for staying quit. Session 8 is a celebration of success and/or attempt.
The first Freedom From Smoking course will be starting Tuesday, August 9th at 5:30pm at the Center for Health Education at 740 SW 9th Street in Newport. The class will meet every Tuesday for 7 weeks with an extra class during quit week (#4). To register please contact Deb Myres, RN at 541-574-4846 or dmyres@samhealth.org
