$25,000 in grants made to 10 Lincoln County agencies

United Way of Benton and Lincoln Counties has awarded $25,000 in grants to 10 Lincoln County agencies as grant recipients in the 2016-2017 Basic Needs funding cycle. The awards were recommended by United Way’s Lincoln Granting Committee June 16, 2016 and ratified by the United Way Board of Directors June 28, 2016. The Committee is comprised of community volunteers who live and work throughout Lincoln County.

The table below shows United Way award recommendations. 16 individual non-profit organizations submitted applications as part of the Basic Needs funding cycle. United Way volunteers, who make all of the funding decisions, were challenged with investing a limited amount of money into an array of outstanding programs working to meet critical human service needs throughout Lincoln County.

Sufficient funds were not available for a request from Lincoln City Warming Shelter, but the committee has expressed a desire to work with the shelter beyond the granting committee to provide needed shelving to store supplies. Keith Miller, a member of the Granting Committee, said, “I am moved by the number of quality organizations and caring people throughout Lincoln County working to make a difference in the lives of others. Funds might be limited, but we are not limited in what can do together to support the Lincoln City Warming Shelter.”
