Day of Action – June 21st
Volunteers are assembling emergency “Go Bags” for the Homeless Community
United Way of Benton & Lincoln Counties first annual Day of Action is Tuesday, June 21. The
Day of Action is an event in which the community works together towards a common goal. The
June 21 event assists those in need, partnering with community members and law enforcement
to enhancing the lives of others as well as the community as a whole.
Volunteers will assemble 200 “Go Bags” in Lincoln City and Newport to provide assistance and
resource materials to people in the homeless community. Backpacks filled with items such as a
rain poncho, socks, food, hygiene essentials, information about 211info and local resources will
be given to local law enforcement agencies and non-profit organizations to distribute to
individuals and families in need.
United Way of Benton & Lincoln Counties is excited to partner with Depend to promote
healthy, active, and independent living throughout an individual’s life, with a focus on
volunteering. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up here.

Lincoln City – South Town Warming Facility – 9:30am – Noon
Volunteer for Lincoln City – Day of Action
Newport – Salvation Army – 9:30am – Noon
