On May 3, 2016 at approximately 10:00 AM Oregon State Police was notified by a fisherman of a deceased body he found in the Whale Cove water area just south of Depoe Bay. The body was recovered and at this time is confirmed to be an unidentified male. The Oregon State Police Medical Examiner will work on identification through DNA. OSP Patrol was assisted by Depoe Bay Fire, Seal Rock Fire, US Coast Guard, OSP Fish and Wildlife and Criminal Division.

We have not received confirmation yet as to whether this is the 26-year-0ld male from Georgia who was swept off the rocks on April 15th at Rocky Creek Scenic View Point, just south of Whale Cove, whose body was never recovered.
