The show will open on April 30th with an opening reception  from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a chance to meet the artists. It will be up through May 30th. This show is all about the inner thoughts and wisdom of young adults. For the last few months they have challenged themselves to create art that shows what is important in their lives. They’ve learned new painting and collaging techniques, overcome the challenges of design choices, learned about the art business, brainstormed titles and prices. And going through this process they have created their own Gallery ready art and found fulfillment and pride in their finished work.

This program at the neighbors for kids after school program was made possible by a grant from the Lincoln County Cultural Coalition.

Art instructor, Krista Eddy, says, ” This group of young artists have created a body of work from their hearts and they are excited to share what they have learned and discovered about themselves and making art. It has been my great pleasure to guide them in this process but not to hinder or lead them too much. I am so proud of all of them for putting themselves out there in this way and for working hard to learn new things. They are Inspirations to me.”

“Art is like eating and breathing”, says young artist Lily Carpenter “you can’t survive without it.” she says that she loves art because you can make art out of anything and art is everywhere!

Budding artist Zayden Parson says,” I love art because I get to draw pigs and drawing makes me happy.”

“I like art because it opens you up and makes you feel better.” says enthusiastic artist Kira King.

And artist, Flores Hanson says,” I like art because I can express myself.”

Artist, Erica Arris says,” art is the window to your soul and inner happiness -when I do art I feel happy.”

And Kaile Gower does art to express her inner voice.

We’d like you to come to our show because “Earth” is just “eh” without quote “art”.
