Pedestrian Fatal Hit And Run Crash In Lincoln City

On 01/06/16 at approximately 18:25 PM, the Lincoln City Police Department responded to a report of a female struck by a vehicle on NW 17th Street, near US Highway 101. When Officers arrived, they found 52-year-old, Lincoln City resident, Rhonda Lynn Chapman, injured in the roadway being aided by passers-by.

Chapman and another pedestrian had been walking Westbound on NW17th Street, near Maxwell’s on the Coast bar and Grill, moments before the incident. Chapman was struck by a motorist that left the scene prior to police arrival. Chapman was transported by ambulance to the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital where she died from injuries sustained during the crash.
