Monday morning December 28th around 11am State Police Trooper Wertz responded to a report of two pedestrians struck by a car on Hwy 229. Investigation showed three pedestrians were walking southbound on Highway 229 near milepost 23. The 71-year old driver of a southbound Ford F-150 truck collided with at least two of the pedestrians. The third pedestrian, an 11-year old juvenile was not injured. One pedestrian a 61-year old from Siletz was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital by Pac West ambulance with undisclosed serious injuries. The second pedestrian struck a 39-year old Toledo woman was treated at the scene and released. ODOT, Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and Siletz Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene. The investigation is on-going and no citations have been issued at this time.
