On September 29, 2015, at approximately 9:00 AM, deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an address on Sams Creek Rd in Logsden, regarding a burglary and theft complaint. A Sheriff’s Deputy and Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) responded and contacted the complainant who reported a vehicle and a several additional items were missing from his property. An investigation was conducted which led to the identification of a suspect who was known to frequent the Sams Creek Rd area. On October 1, 2015, the victim’s stolen vehicle was recovered and additional suspect information developed.
On October 8, 2015, a Detective with the CRU contacted 44 year old George Leroy Myrland at his residence on Sams Creek Rd and located several property items belonging to the victim in his possession. Further investigation into Myrland’s involvement was conducted and on October 13, 2015, Myrland was taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for the following crimes:
Burglary II
Aggravated Theft I
Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle
Criminal Mischief I
Criminal Trespass II
Myrland’s bail was set at $257,500.
