Saturday night November 11th around 9:15pm State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to Devil’s Lake State Park in Lincoln City to the report of a rifle discharged from a camp site. A male occupant of the campsite identified as 32-year old Jeffrey Natsch of Oregon City told Trooper Wertz  he accidentally discharged a hunting rifle while cleaning it. He showed signs of impairment and reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol prior to cleaning the weapon. The discharged round struck Mr. Natsch’s car, entering through a side window and exiting out the back window, and continuing in the direction of an adjoining campsite where two occupants were sitting around a camp fire. The weapon was seized and Natsch was cited and released for Reckless Endangering of a Person.
