Imagine Lincoln City is a community engagement program with one overarching goal – to create a
guiding vision for the way our community looks, feels, and functions over the next twenty years based
on input from the people who live, work, play, and visit here.
This project will create a framework for future decision-making, investment, and collaboration. It will be
an exciting and engaging process that could lead to transformative change. City staff with the help of
consultants JRO and Company, volunteers and community partners are leading the project. Over the
coming months we intend to identify shared community goals and aspirations by engaging people from
all walks of life.
We’re excited to establish the first shared vision for Lincoln City! Over 50 years ago, Lincoln City
incorporated, joining together six small communities. One of the goals of this project is to preserve what
people love most about these “pearls,” while also addressing needs or aspirations for our future
A Vision Team made up of members representing community groups is going to help guide the project.
Tools to make collecting community input as easy as possible will allow everyone to share ideas.
Opportunities will include meetings, community events, interviews, presentations to community groups,
online surveys, idea boxes located throughout the city, open houses, social media, and more. An online
survey is available now at http://bit.ly/ImagineLC. People who complete the survey will have a chance to
win a $100 Visa gift card! For a complete list of upcoming activities and engagement opportunities, visit
the project website at www.imaginelincolncity.org.
As we consider the future of our community, think BIG! Big ideas might include a new direction for the
city, major new programs, expansive service, utility, and transportation improvements, environment,
transforming projects in arts, culture, or the environment, recreation, education, and living
accommodations. The ideas received during through the end of October will go directly to policy makers
and city staff, who will refine them into a draft vision for community review.
