Lincoln City is coordinating with SOLVE Oregon for pre and post-eclipse beach cleanup events throughout the city. The public is invited to come help get local Lincoln City beaches and parks ready for the big event. There are times and locations for the cleanups that works for everyone. Cleanup Zones and Meeting areas for the cleanups will be at Roads End, Chinook Winds, Kirtises Park, D-River wayside, 35th street, at the Taft Dock and at the Josephine Young Park off Siletz Bay. Cleanups will be taking place on Sunday, August 20th 5-8PM Tuesday, August 22nd 5-8PM and Saturday August 26th 10AM-1PM.
SOLVE is offering a free hands-on workshop where participants will learn how to envision and lead an eclipse-related volunteer cleanup. Participants will learn beach cleanup basics, planning stages, safety and will be given all necessary cleanup supplies. The training is free for anyone that leads a cleanup. The workshop will be on August 12th at the at the Lincoln City community center from 10am to noon. A light lunch is provided.
