Input Sought For Halibut And Bottomfish Seasons

ODFW hosting public meetings to get input on 2018 sport halibut and 2018 and 2019-2020 sport bottomfish:

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will be hosting 4 public meetings to get input from recreational anglers to help shape the 2017 sport Pacific halibut, and 2018 and 2019-2020 sport bottomfish seasons.   These meetings are the first step in multi-step state and federal processes, and will be used to gather ideas on possible management measures to explore.

The meetings schedule:

  • Tuesday, July 25, 6-8 pm in Newport at the Marine Resources Program office, 2040 SE Marine Science Dr.  This meeting will be webcast, details below.
  • Wednesday, July 26, 6-8 pm in Salem at ODFW Headquarters in the Commission Room.
  • Monday, July 31 7-9 pm in Brookings at the Best Western Beachfront Inn (note the time for this meeting is different than the other meetings)
  • Tuesday, August 1, 6-8 pm at the Public Library in North Bend
