Driftwood Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Club has begun at Driftwood Public Library! All ages can participate, from babies to teens to adults. Visit the library to sign up and earn prizes for reading all summer long! Programs for teens and families begin June 20th, and this year’s theme is Build a Better World. Teen programs take place on TUESDAYS, from 3-5 pm, and will include Henna, Lego Jewelry, Art with Krista Eddy, and more. On June 27th, teens will help decorate the new little free book houses that will be permanently installed throughout the city. Teen programs may be attended by those who have finished sixth grade, through high school.

Family nights will begin June 21st at 6:30 pm with Jason Ropp and Dragon Theatre Puppets. Programs continue every Wednesday through August 9th, and include Science, Explosions, Storytellers, Book Bingo, Critters, Jugglers, Music and more! All ages are welcome to these free performances. For the second year, the library is sponsoring a story walk for all ages. Pick up a map either at the library or from the community center. Adults can once again earn rubber duckies and book bags by playing book bingo.

And don’t forget there will be a free screening of Disney’s live action movie Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson, at 6:00 pm sharp on Wednesday, June 14th. Space will be limited, so plan on arriving early. Summer Reading Club is sponsored by Friends of Driftwood Library , The Driftwood Library Foundation , Lincoln County Library District, and D’Sands Condominium Hotel. The library is located at 801 SW HWY 101, on the second floor of the City Hall building, adjacent to McKay’s Market (formerly Price ‘n Pride) and across the street from Burger King.
