Nominations for Lincoln City Man and Woman of the year have now been announced. Woman of the Year nominations were given to Barb Halferty who works with the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Foundation and the North area schools. Laura Joki who started and continues to run Lincoln City Buy Sell and Trade, a sounding board on Facebook. Majalise Tolan, Principal of That High School, coach and serves on Family Promise Board. Also receiving community recognition was Serena Wohlwend, involved with Love My Neighbor, National Day of Prayer and Family Promise.
Man of the Year nominations were given to Patrick Alexander. Publisher of Oregon Coast Today, Volunteer for Siletz Bay Music Festival, Lincoln City Cultural Center and MC for the Community Days banquet. Gordon “Mick” McLean, member of the Lincoln City American Legion Post, served on the North Lincoln Health District Board, North Lincoln County Museum, Friends of the Library. Bob Moore an active member of the Lincoln City Kiwanis Club and the driving force behind the rapid growth of Boy Scouts in Lincoln County. Jason Zacher who organized, raised the money and ran a 370 marathon which raised over $10,000 for Business for Excellence in Youth’s backpack food program.
The winners will be announced at the Community Days Banquet to be held April 29 at Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
