Central Lincoln PUD is moving to a new billing system called Smart Hub. As a result of the transition Central Lincoln offices are closed the rest of this week. No payments can be accepted online or by phone during this week, now through April 9th, while they are in transition to the new system. According to Chris Chandler public information officer for Central Lincoln they will not be doing any disconnections, or assessing customers any late fees because of the transition.
Chandler said starting Monday any payments that customers want to make over the phone will be done through an automated system. There will also be a new billing system through the Smart Hub program. Chandler said they are excited about the new program that will be online starting on Monday (4/10). “Folks will be receiving a new Central Lincoln Bill as well as what’s where on that bill.” Chandler stated “it’s easier to read and certainly a nicer format that what we had been using.”
Information will also be provided on how to use the new Smart Hub. Chandler added “there will be a smart hub app as well so those with smart phones can download it and get information on their mobile devices.” Signing up for the Smart Hub offers customers shortcuts to pay their bill, manage their account, look at any service requests, your billing history, and past usage.
Customers can also sign up for paperless billing, and set up auto pay. Contacting PUD will now be done through a toll free number and calls will go to the first customer service representative available in Florence, Newport or Reedsport. Payments will be accepted this week by check, which can still be mailed in or dropped off at drop off sites and will be processed next week.
