Search Warrant Recovers Stolen Property

On February 19, 2017 Lincoln County Deputy Shawn Carter developed information regarding stolen property involving residential and commercial burglaries in Lincoln County. The information identified a specific storage unit in South Beach, OR. On February 20th at 5:50PM The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on the storage unit.

During the service of the warrant Damien J. Barber age 28 of South Beach was taken into custody. The search warrant recovered evidence from five previously reported burglaries and three unreported burglaries. The property recovered involved reports from the City of Toledo, City of Newport and other areas within Lincoln County.

Damien Barber was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on 6 counts of Burglary and 1 count of Theft. His initial bail was set at $350,000. Additional charges are expected.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with an open Theft or Burglary case in the Newport, Toledo or South Beach area where industrial welding equipment, metal or auto mechanic tools and commercial fishing supplies were taken within the last 6 months to contact your local law enforcement agency or the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 541-265-7139.
