Taft High School will join more than 100 high schools and community based organizations around the state in hosting Oregon College Application Week events between November 14th and 18th. The goal of the week is to assist all seniors as they apply to some type of post-secondary educational option, including certificate programs, two-year degree programs, and four-year degree programs.
During College Application Week, students at Taft High School will participate in a variety of college awareness activities, including college trivia, visits from university representatives, a cosmic bingo night, and more. With the help of school and community volunteers, they will complete applications, with the goal of 100% of the senior class submitting applications by the end of the week.
Oregon College Application Week is a statewide initiative coordinated by Oregon GEAR UP, in collaboration with a steering committee representing the K-12 community, community based organizations, and all sectors of Oregon’s higher education system. It is a participating program of the American Council on Education’s American College Application Campaign. For more information visit http://www.oregongoestocollege.org.
