Since late March, Oregon Coast Community College staff have been building a brand-new website from the ground up. Misty Lambrecht, Spencer Smith (a contractor with the College employed by OrcoTech, an Information Technology service provider) and Dave Price, have built the site on the WordPress platform.
“The College needed to upgrade its site to be more accessible to students and the community,” said Price, OCCC’s Director of Community Education and Small Business Development. “Our new site is fully-responsive and accessible by mobile devices of all different sorts, as well as by traditional computers. The site offers a number of improvements over the College’s former website, including an enhanced calendar utility, easier links to application forms and registration information, and more.
“We opted to develop the site in-house,” Lambrecht said, “in part to keep costs to a minimum, but also to have total control and to allow for input from staff and students to help shape the look, the feel, and the personality of the new site.” Lambrecht is the coordinator of the OCCC Small Business Development Center’s Small Business Management Program.
The site remains at the College’s former address, www.oregoncoastcc.org.
